WOMAN EMPOWERMENT 

 Sometimes , realization struck like a thunder bolt . It came to me the same way. While I was complaining for freedom in my life , I realized it was me living in the boundaries of social norms , deprived of my potential . These boundaries are created by "The social zombies" who do not want us to grow but we have to break all the bonds and move on.

Why women empowerment is important ?

• Empowerment helps to reduce domestic violence due people promote and give value to woman so that, they can get rid of sexual abuse,emotion abuse,and physical abuse.
• It enhances the overall development of society . women are playing several roles in the corporate sector these days like engineering ,medical and so on.They are not only taking part in technology fields ,but they are also serving the nation by actively participating in services like military,          police with all their dedication and sincerity.
• It will help to eradicate huge problem of unemployment .Around 50% of the population consists of women population .unemployment of women and unequal opportunities in the places of work cause great problems around the world ,because true potential is not coming out.
• To get rid of poverty.if economic independence will be given to women ,it will also serve in contributing the economic benefits of household and society as a whole .They can contribute their family members in household expenses and it will lead to sustainable development and give the better living standard to everyone.

Role of education in women empowerment

Education is the birthright of every girl child born in India.But it is pathetic that due to our dominating nature of society , most of the women in the country are lacking this right .Education is the master key to open the door to women empowerment. As per the 2011 census ,the female literacy in India is 65.46% as compare to male literacy rate of over 80%.Education among the female citizens is the only way through which we ,as a society ,can move forward and desire to economic growth.

There are several reasons on role of education in women empowerment:-

• Education liberates:-it liberates the mind and opens up the ways to become self-dependent women . whether we are studying languages, history,science etc .we are gaining knowledge about the people around us , world , culture many more and educating ourselves.
• Eliminates social evils:- it inspire women to stand against the social evils which curse the society .An intelligent and aware women will definitely fight against dowry,sexual harassment , anti-feminism and male domination.
• Financial Independence:- the educated women is no longer dependent on man for shelter , food and other basic necessities . she is capable of earning her own income,buying own house and feeding herself.

BARRIERS:-

1. Discrimination at every place and at every point of life either its a workplace or any educational field.
2. Family responsibilities such as taking leaves of absence or sick days,childcare.
3. Sexual harassment is an obstacle that many woman face.
4. Women are promoted less often than men.

     Women empowerment is one vital aspect that needs to be considered by both- the law and the                 society. For empowerment, education plays the most important role as it makes woman capable of         facing challenges and to resist their traditional role in the society and live their life as per their own       whims and fantacies.

"The strongest actions for a women is to love herself , be herself and shine amongst

 those who never believed she could".
